Rennie Team Tuesday: Jen Harvey
Meet Rennie Advisor Jen Harvey.
Why do you work with Rennie?
I appreciate the opportunity to learn from the broader team about how the city is shaped residentially.
I love working with and learning from the broader team and I’m fascinated by what shapes our city. There are also tons of great opportunities to connect with our clients and share experiences through the Rennie Museum.
What do you most value in your friends?
They’ve gotta be fun do-ers who get stuff done!
What do you most value in your colleagues?
Rennie attracts bright, driven folks who genuinely care about one another’s success and celebrate it!
Why do you love living in Vancouver?
In addition to the spectacular physical setting, the city attracts such a wide variety of folks with a variety of interests. There’s always so much to see and do! This month I’ve attended picnics at the beach, lectures about public space in Slovenia, and Car Free days on The Drive.
If you were given $3M to invest in Vancouver real estate, what would you do with it and why?
I’d build or renovate a four-plex on a full-sized lot in East Van to live in and build community. Vancouver needs more multi-family projects in traditionally single-family zoned neighbourhoods.
What does community mean to you?
Collaboration, inspiration, care, and respect.
If you were traveling abroad for one week, and could only bring one item, what would it be and why?
A hammock. The most perfect way to enjoy a park, watch the world go by and/or read a book. Try it and you’ll experience places in a different way!
Tell us about your everyday essentials.
I’m an avid cyclist so you’ll see a few pieces that are fun and functional like my bike lights or my Icelandic wool necklace that’s high-vis reflective to stay safe and seen.
Also, a few tools that help me work outside as much as possible like sunscreen, sunglasses and a battery booster pack.
There’s also a shout out to my favourite beverages: beer, coffee and kombucha.
